The Wizards return to the road tonight as they take on the Knicks in asbestos-free Madison Square Garden. Michael Lee of The Washington Post is with the team and he is reporting that Gilbert Arenas will make his long-awaited return to the NBA regular season tonight. Arenas hasn't participated in any kind of game action since going three minutes in the October 14 preseason game against Milwaukee. He has been recovering from a strained right ankle tendon.
Mike Rizzo spoke at the end of last season about acquiring a front-line starter. Now, Adam Kilgore of the Post is reporting that the Nationals will take a run at acquiring Brandon Webb. Webb won the Cy Young Award with the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2006, and came in second in both 2007 and 2008, but has not pitched the big leagues since 2009.
And point guard Quinn Cook, a native of Hyattsville, formerly of DeMatha, and currently of Oak Hill Academy, has chosen to play his college ball at Duke.
